David Riley was born into a blue-collar family in Houston Texas. Hard work, love for family, loyalty, and love for all aspects of the outdoors were a few of the virtues passed to David from his parents Herschell and Inez Riley. After graduating from High School he work in the construction industry as an electrician for twenty five years.
David found that sharing his faith in Jesus Christ brought light into people’s lives in the same way that electricity brought light into dark buildings. Relational evangelism and a love for people seemed to be steering him into full time ministry. In 2003 he was invited to join the staff at Gateway Baptist in Spring, Texas as the Family Life Pastor. In 2005 in an effort to plan a Men’s Outdoor Expo, David came across a guy that used dogs to present the gospel, Hank Hough. The two gospel lovin’, dog lovin’, outdoorsmen seemed to have too much in common for their chance encounter to have been just happenstance.
Kingdom Dog was really starting to touch people’s lives and as David prayed for and encouraged Hank, their friendship, love for God and love people begin to run on parallel tracks. In 2010 he made his first “short” Kingdom Dog presentation in a Sunday School class in Amarillo Tx. He now does the “Power of Obedience” public school presentations as well as Kingdom Dog presentations, always learning from the mentoring voice Hank.
David is married to wife, Terry, of 38 years and has two children and six grandchildren.
